Band 9  173 words

The line graph compares the proportion of households that had access to the internet in the UK, Malaysia and Bangladesh at five-year intervals from 2005 to 2025.

Overall, internet access rose in all three countries throughout the period. The UK had the highest level at every point, while Bangladesh, despite starting from a very low base, saw by far the most rapid growth in the later years.

In 2005, just over half of British households (55%) were connected, compared with roughly a third (35%) in Malaysia. Both figures climbed steadily, and the gap between the two countries gradually narrowed as the UK approached saturation. By 2025, access had reached 97% in the UK and 93% in Malaysia.

Bangladesh followed a very different pattern. Only 2% of households were online in 2005, and the figure was still just 5% five years later. From 2010, however, access accelerated sharply, reaching 39% in 2020 and 62% by 2025 — a thirty-fold increase over the twenty years, although it still lagged well behind the other two countries.

Band 7  167 words

The line graph shows the percentage of households with internet access in the UK, Malaysia and Bangladesh between 2005 and 2025.

Overall, the percentage increased in all three countries. The UK was always the highest and Malaysia was always second, while Bangladesh had the biggest growth, especially after 2010.

In 2005, 55% of households in the UK had the internet, while in Malaysia it was 35%. Both countries increased steadily over the period, and by 2010 the figures were 73% and 52%. The UK reached 94% in 2020 and 97% in 2025. Malaysia also grew quickly and reached 93% in 2025, so the difference between the two countries became smaller.

In Bangladesh, the figure was very low at the beginning. It was only 2% in 2005 and 5% in 2010. After that, it increased quickly to 18% in 2015, 39% in 2020 and 62% in 2025, so it more than doubled in the last ten years. However, it was still much lower than the other two countries.

কেন ব্যান্ড ৭: সব লাইন কভার, overview আছে ও তথ্য সঠিক। তবে ভাষা সরল (increased, quickly, reached বারবার), তুলনার বাক্য কম ও শব্দভান্ডার সীমিত।

Band 5–6  133 words

The graph show the percent of houses have internet in UK, Malaysia and Bangladesh from 2005 to 2025.

Overall all country increase in this time. UK is the highest all the time and Malaysia is second. Bangladesh is increase very fast in the end.

In 2005 UK was 55% and Malaysia was 35%. Then they go up every year, in 2010 UK is 73% and Malaysia is 52%. UK go to 97% in 2025 and Malaysia go to 93%. So they are nearly same in the end.

Bangladesh was very low, only 2% in 2005 and 5% in 2010. After it increase very much, 18% in 2015, 39% in 2020 and 62% in 2025. It is very big change for Bangladesh. But it still less than UK and Malaysia in all the years.

Band 9  262 words

As cities grow and traffic worsens, governments must decide how to divide their transport budgets. While new roads can sometimes be justified, I largely agree that public transport deserves the greater share of investment.

The main reason is that building more roads rarely solves congestion for long. Wider roads tend to encourage more people to drive, so within a few years the new lanes fill up and traffic returns to its previous level. By contrast, a fast and reliable bus or rail network can move far more people using the same amount of space. In Dhaka, for example, a single metro train carries thousands of passengers, the equivalent of many hundreds of private cars, without adding to the jams above ground.

Public transport also brings wider social and environmental benefits. It produces far less pollution per passenger than private vehicles, which matters in cities where poor air quality damages people’s health. Moreover, it gives affordable mobility to those who cannot buy a car, such as students, older people and low-income workers, allowing them to reach jobs and services that would otherwise be out of reach.

Admittedly, roads remain essential in some situations. Rural areas, where populations are too scattered for frequent buses, still need good roads, as does the movement of goods by lorry. However, these needs can be met through careful maintenance and targeted projects rather than large-scale road building.

In conclusion, although roads will always have a role, I believe governments should prioritise public transport, because it tackles congestion more effectively, protects the environment and serves every section of society.

Band 7  259 words

Nowadays, traffic is a big problem in many cities. Some people think governments should spend more money on public transport than on new roads. I agree with this idea for several reasons.

Firstly, building new roads does not solve traffic problems for a long time. When there are more roads, more people buy cars and drive, so the roads become busy again. However, good public transport like buses and trains can carry many people at the same time. For example, the metro rail in Dhaka carries thousands of passengers every day, so fewer people need to use cars. This saves time for everyone, because the roads are less crowded.

Secondly, public transport is better for the environment. Cars produce a lot of pollution, which is bad for people’s health. If more people use buses and trains, the air will be cleaner. Also, public transport is cheaper than having a car, so poor people, students and old people can travel to work or school easily. This makes the city fairer for everyone.

On the other hand, some people say that roads are still important, especially in villages where there are not many buses. This is true, and lorries also need roads to carry goods. However, governments can repair old roads instead of building many new ones, which costs less money.

In conclusion, I agree that governments should spend more money on public transport because it reduces traffic, it is better for the environment and it helps poor people. I hope that more cities will follow this idea in the future.

Band 5–6  218 words

Now a days the traffic is very big problem in the city. Some people think government should spend more money for public transport than make new road. I am agree with this.

First reason is new road can not solve traffic. When there is more road people buy more car and the road become busy again. But bus and train can take many people in same time. For example in Dhaka the metro rail carry many passenger every day, so less people use the car and the road is more free.

Second reason is public transport is good for environment. Car make lot of pollution and it is bad for health. If people use bus the air will be clean. Also bus is cheap so poor people can go to work and student can go to school. Car is very expensive and many people can not buy it.

But some people say road is important in village because there is no bus. It is true and also truck need the road for carry the goods. But government can repair the old road, it is more cheap than make new road.

In conclusion I am agree government should spend more money in public transport because it reduce traffic, it is good for environment and it help the poor people.
