Personal Introduction Not Scored
Read the prompt, then record your introduction.
1 · Read Aloud
Prepare, then read the text aloud clearly and naturally.
Trap: the scoring engine checks every word — skipping or mispronouncing one costs both Reading and Speaking marks.
2 · Repeat Sentence
Listen once, then immediately repeat the sentence exactly.
Show the sentence (after you try)
"The library will be closed on Monday while new shelves are being installed."
3 · Describe Image
Prepare, then describe the chart in your own words.
Trap: start with the overall pattern ("rainfall is very low in winter and peaks during the monsoon, in July"), then compare the highest and lowest months — don't just read out every bar.
4 · Retell Lecture
Listen to the lecture (taking notes if you like), then retell its key points.

"Today we'll look at what causes the tides, the regular rise and fall of sea level along coastlines. Tides are caused mainly by the gravitational pull of the Moon, which pulls slightly harder on the side of the Earth facing it than on the far side. This difference creates two bulges of water, one facing the Moon and one on the opposite side, and as the Earth rotates, most coastlines pass through both bulges, giving two high tides each day. The Sun also affects the tides, although its influence is less than half that of the Moon because it is so much further away. When the Sun, Moon and Earth line up, at new moon and full moon, their effects combine to produce especially high and low tides called spring tides. When the Sun and Moon pull at right angles, the tidal range is smaller, and these are known as neap tides."
5 · Answer Short Question
Listen to the question, then answer with a single word or short phrase.
Show expected answer (after you try)
"A thermometer." — one word is enough.
6 · Summarize Group Discussion
Listen to the discussion, then give a spoken summary covering both viewpoints.

Speaker A: "I think homework should be removed in primary schools, because young children learn best through play, and long evenings of worksheets mostly create stress for families."
Speaker B: "I understand the concern, but a small amount of homework helps children build routines and gives parents a chance to see what their child is learning."
Speaker A: "That's true, although research suggests homework has very little effect on achievement at that age, so the routine could come from reading together instead."
Speaker B: "Reading together is a good idea, and perhaps that is the best compromise: short reading tasks rather than long written assignments."
Moderator: "So one view sees homework as stressful and ineffective for young children, while the other values routine and parental involvement, and both agree that short reading tasks could be a middle ground."
Trap: mention at least two different viewpoints — not just one speaker's opinion.
7 · Respond to a Situation
Prepare, then speak an appropriate response to the situation.
Trap: apologise briefly, explain clearly what happened, and ask a specific question (replacement or fine?) — don't spend the whole 40 seconds on excuses.
8 · Summarize Written Text
Read the passage, then write a one-sentence summary (5-75 words) in 10 minutes.
📖 Show a model one-sentence summary
Night markets enliven empty streets and give small traders a low-cost chance to sell while attracting visitors with their atmosphere, but they require careful regulation of noise, litter and hygiene to succeed.
9 · Write Essay
Write a 200-300 word argumentative essay in 20 minutes.
📖 Compare with 3 sample responses (strong / mid / weak)
"The rapid growth of online courses has led many to question whether traditional classrooms are still necessary. While digital learning offers undeniable advantages, I believe it should complement rather than replace face-to-face education.
Supporters of online learning point to its flexibility and reach. Students can study at their own pace, revisit recorded lectures and access courses from world-class institutions without the cost of relocating, which is particularly valuable for working adults and learners in remote areas. In addition, well-designed platforms can track progress and adapt exercises to individual weaknesses.
On the other hand, classroom teaching provides benefits that are difficult to reproduce on a screen. Teachers can notice confusion immediately, adjust their explanations and encourage quieter students, while classmates learn from discussion, debate and collaboration. Furthermore, many young learners lack the self-discipline to study alone, and the pandemic revealed that unequal access to devices and reliable internet can widen educational gaps.
In my view, the most effective model is a blended one. Online materials are ideal for delivering content and practice, whereas classroom time is best used for discussion, problem-solving and personal support. Therefore, rather than choosing between the two, institutions should combine their strengths, preserving the human connection of the classroom while extending learning far beyond its walls."
"Online learning is very popular now and many students use it. Some people think it can replace classroom because it is flexible and cheap, and students can watch lectures again. But other people think classroom is better because teachers can help students directly and students can talk with friends. In my opinion online learning is good but classroom is also important, so we should use both of them together in the future."
মধ্যম: দুই পক্ষ আছে কিন্তু বিস্তার কম, সরল বাক্য, শব্দসংখ্যা অনেক কম।
"Online learning is good because it is easy. Classroom also good because teacher is there. Some people like online and some like class. I think both is good for student."
দুর্বল: ব্যাকরণ ভুল, যুক্তি নেই, খুব ছোট।
